Suction Catheter
Suction catheters are long, flexible tubes that are used to remove the respiratory secretions from your airways. The process of suction is carried out to ensure that the airways remain clear of secretions and prevent plugging. The catheter is attached to a collection container and a device that helps generate the suction on one end. The other end is open and is advanced through the airway to get rid of the secretions.
